Three Peaks Teen Hike (3 days/ 2 nights)

An inspiring and fun backpacking adventurous journey on the Bibbulmun Track. Day 1 is a relaxing step into the beautiful forest to Monadnocks Campsite, a hidden secluded gem. Day 2 is both an exciting challenge and exhilaration, reaching the top of Mt Cuthbert, a view you will never believe is in Perth. We depart Mt Cook Campsite on day 3 and climb once again for more stunning views and a visit to a small hidden cave.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

You will learn and experience independence, self-awareness, resilience and confidence like never before. You will be given opportunities to take self and group responsibilities suited to your goals and abilities. Our groups are encouraged to bond naturally without pressure, in their own time. Didier continually assesses everyone’s adventure progression on the trail to assist you in achieving your goals and having the most fantastic time. You will gain from experienced and recommended teen hike specialists who have worked with Willetton Senior High School, Perth Modern School, Hale College and Guildford Grammar.

HIKING ITINERARY

Day 1: Kinsella Rd/Four Ways Rd to Monadnocks Campsite – 14km
Day 2: Monadnocks Campsite to Mt Cooke Campsite – 13 km
Day 3: Mt Cooke Campsite to McDowall Rd/Albany Hwy- 21 km

Total: 48 km

WE PROVIDE
  • Qualified & experienced Guide/Mentor
  • Small groups with a maximum of 12 participants
  • Fully licenced Dept Parks & Wildlife Commercial Operator
  • Extensive individual and group preparation (Zoom meetings)
  • Duke Of Edinburgh International Award Supervisor, Assessor and reports

Hikes have been designed for beginners, even if you have never hiked. Some level of fitness and good physical health is required.

HIKE REQUIREMENTS

The hike requires participants to

  • Participate in the two group hike planning Zoom meetings.
  • Provide your hiking gear. (Gear List) Limited gear for hire is available.
  • Provide own food
DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD – Adventurous Journey

This hike meets the requirements to complete the following Adventurous Journey paths…

  • Bronze – Combined Practice & Qualifying Journey
  • Silver – Combined Practice or Qualifying Journey
  • Gold – Not suitable

Conditions: A minimum of 4 peer bookings are required to meet Duke Of Ed regulations for Participants under 18 years old.

What is the LifeTrail Hikefulness experience?
 
Hikefulness is a natural feeling you receive after hiking for a while, that encourages the mental, physical and emotional connection to everything around you. The flora, wildlife, other hikers and yourself.
 
Hikefulness brings you to the present and to take responsibility organically that both be challenging and bring you peace at the same time.  
 
The LifeTrail Hikefulness experience always empowers participants to build independence and resilience. Hikes are a mentored hiking experience rather than a tour. 
 
There is a focus placed on self physical, mental and emotional awareness. A right balance of education, community, silence,  guidance and space when needed. 
 
Knowing when to move forward and when to rest and reflect, is essential to managing stress and becoming more prductive during daily activities like school or work.
