LifeTrail – Teen Hikes
Terms & Conditions of Booking and Participation
These Terms & Conditions apply to all LifeTrail Teen Hikes. By booking or participating, participants and guardians agree to the following.
Nature of the Activity
LifeTrail Teen Hikes are delivered as guided outdoor experiences.
They involve walking in natural environments over one or more days and may include uneven terrain, variable weather, physical exertion, and shared group activities.
Teen Hikes are not camps, programs, disability support services, mentoring services, therapeutic services, or personal care services.
Participant Eligibility & Suitability
Participation is subject to a participant’s ability to meet the normal requirements of a guided multiday hike, including:
- participating safely in a group setting,
- managing personal care and equipment with guidance,
- following instructions and making reasonable decisions.
LifeTrail reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation if, in the guide’s professional assessment, a participant’s health, behaviour, or capacity presents a safety risk to themselves or others.
Further details regarding preparation, safety, roles, and participation expectations are outlined in the Teen Hikes – Preparation, Safety & Participation Information page, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
Guide Authority & Safety Decisions
All decisions made by the guide during a hike are final and are made in the interest of:
- participant safety,
- group wellbeing,
- environmental conditions,
- and the ability to complete the hike safely.
The guide may alter, shorten, or cancel activities, routes, or itineraries at any time due to safety, weather, environmental conditions, or participant considerations.
Booking, Payment & Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
Cancellation terms, refund policies, and pricing are outlined on the relevant booking page and apply to all Teen Hikes unless otherwise stated.
LifeTrail reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a hike due to safety, environmental, or operational reasons.
Group Numbers & Ratios
Teen Hikes operate with minimum and maximum participant numbers.
Guide-to-participant ratios may be adjusted based on assessed risk, terrain, environmental conditions, and group composition.
Preparation Requirements
Participants may be required to attend mandatory pre-hike briefings and preparation sessions as a condition of participation.
Failure to complete required preparation may result in exclusion from the hike without refund.
Detailed preparation requirements are outlined in the Teen Hikes – Preparation, Safety & Participation Information page.

Participants and guardians are responsible for ensuring that the participant is physically and mentally capable of participating in a multiday hike.

First aid may be administered at the guide’s discretion where appropriate.
In the event of a medical emergency, LifeTrail may contact emergency services and share relevant medical information provided by the participant or guardian.
