Private Hike Experiences in Western Australia

Your own adventure, personally guided by Didier

LifeTrail offers private guided hiking experiences around Denmark, Walpole and on Western Australia’s Bibbulmun Track, led by founder and guide Didier Monot.

All LifeTrail hike types can be arranged privately—for yourself, your family, a school or your own group. From a few hours exploring the forest to a multiday adventure, we’ll plan a hike around who’s coming and what you’d like to experience.

Why choose a private hike?

Your people, your experience
Come on your own and hike with Didier, or share the trail with people you choose. A private booking is reserved for you or your group.

A hike planned around you
Discuss your interests, experience and support needs with Didier. Together, you’ll choose a suitable route, duration and level of challenge.

Personal guidance from the first conversation
You’ll speak directly with the person guiding your hike. Didier’s approach is calm, practical and attentive, with space for conversation, learning and enjoying the landscape.

Which hikes can be arranged privately?

  • Private day hikes: 3- or 6-hour Hikefulness® experiences around Denmark and Walpole, exploring forest and coastal trails.

  • Multiday adventures: spend longer on the Bibbulmun Track, whether you’re discovering overnight hiking or looking for your next challenge. Including the beginning of your Bibbulmun Track end-to-end.

  • Teen hikes: private hiking adventures for teen groups, with time to learn trail skills and share the experience.

  • School hikes: guided outdoor experiences for primary and secondary school groups, planned around students’ ages and the school’s goals.

  • Supported and NDIS hikes: private experiences planned around your interests, pace and support needs, with family or support workers welcome.

  • Duke of Edinburgh journeys: discuss a private group Adventurous Journey for Bronze, Silver or Gold.

  • Didier has also guided: families, work colleagues

Dates, routes and group arrangements are agreed with Didier, taking account of availability, trail conditions and any program requirements.

A few things you might like to know

Yes. You don’t need to organise a group. Didier has guided alone and with an Assistant when required, including men, women, teens and kids on half to 7 day hikes who are self and NDIS funded. Contact Didier to discuss a one-to-one guided hike and the price for your experience.

Beginners are welcome. The right hike depends on your experience, fitness and comfort on uneven ground. Longer hikes have different demands, so we’ll discuss what suits you before booking.

The price depends on the hike, duration, group size, location, arrangements and the number of guides required. Contact Didier with your idea to confirm the options and cost.

What if our group has fewer people than planned?

Ask Didier when you enquire. Where appropriate, and with your group’s agreement, he may be able to promote the remaining places to people of a similar age, hiking capability and goals to the general public or groups and schools he already has a connection with.

For example, a teen group of eight might have room for four more. This depends on the hike, suitability and how much notice you give. Didier decides whether this is an option, and additional participants cannot be guaranteed.

Let’s plan your private hike

Tell Didier who’s coming, your preferred dates and the kind of experience you have in mind. You don’t need to have every detail worked out—we can start with a conversation.
