Private Guided Hikes in Denmark & Walpole WA
The LifeTrail Hikefulness® Experience
Choose between a Denmark or Walpole 3-hour or 6-hour private hike shaped around your needs, pace and goals. Didier guides private hikes for adults, young people, children, families, individuals and small groups. Each hike is shaped around the participants — not around a fixed tour script.
Private guided hike, shaped around your day
Before your hike, Didier will be in touch to understand what you’re after and shape the day around you — the landscape, the pace and the intention.
What's it like hiking with Didier?
It didn’t feel like a normal guided tour. Didier was there when I needed him, but never in a loud or pushy way. The walk had this quiet Hikefulness® feel to it — no rushing, no pressure to perform, just noticing the track, the weather, my breathing, and where I was. I felt safe the whole time, but it never felt clinical or over-managed. It was more like being gently guided back into nature, and back into myself a bit.
Bibbulmun Track, Forest and Coastal Hiking

The Bibbulmun Track
WA’s world-class long-distance hiking trail changed Didier’s life, and he now shares it with others. Rhythmic, steady, and iconic. Long views, forest rhythm, and the quiet that only a 1,000 km, world-class, long-distance trail can offer. It winds its way through forests and along the coast. You are part of something special and life-changing for many people.

Valley of the Giants and Tingle Forest
Around 45 minutes from Denmark and 20 minutes from Walpole, a Valley of the Giants hike is silent, cathedral-like and grounding. The world’s oldest tingle trees, including the famous Giant Tingle Tree on the Bibbulmun Track. Away from the crowds, in the pockets where the forest actually speaks.

South Coast and Sea Cliffs
Didier lives 8 minutes from this this raw, salt-sprayed, and powerful coastline. A well-travelled visitor once told him that the south coast is some of the best he has experienced anywhere in the world. The Southern Ocean meets ancient granite and the horizon stretches without end. Empty beaches that most visitors never find.

Guided by Didier
LifeTrail is guided by Didier Monot, founder, head guide, experienced hiker and mentor based in Denmark, Western Australia. With over 3,000 km walked on the Bibbulmun Track, Didier brings a calm, practical and personal presence to each hike — helping people feel safe, unhurried and connected to the track, the weather, the landscape and themselves.
FAQ - Questions I am frequently asked
Hikefulness is my signature approach to guided hiking, blending commercial outdoor adventure with deep mindfulness and nature connection. On these private hikes through Denmark, Western Australia, I guide you along pristine coastal paths and ancient forests, moving at a pace that allows you to truly slow down, breathe, and ground yourself in the natural landscape.
I recommend wearing sturdy enclosed walking shoes or boots, weather-appropriate layered clothing, and bringing a small daypack with a water bottle, sun protection, and a waterproof jacket.
Because safety and mindfulness are my primary focuses, I handle all route navigation, risk management, and first aid preparation so you can fully immerse yourself in the journey. I will speak with you before a day hike to assist you to be ready for any weather and trail conditions.
Yes, absolutely. Every hike is private and tailored entirely to your personal pace and comfort level.
I am a deeply safety-focused, fully insured expert guide, meaning your journey through the wilderness is completely supported, secure, and managed under strict professional operator standards.
I am very experienced in guiding beginners and overcoming any barriers you may have.
Since I run these as completely private guided hikes, I tailor the pace and distance entirely to your comfort level. Whether I take you on a gentle walk through the ancient forests or a steadier track along our rugged coastal lookouts, you don’t need to be an elite athlete. If you can comfortably walk on uneven ground for a few hours with short breaks, you will do wonderfully. My goal is to help you slow down and connect with the landscape, not rush through it.
Your safety on the trail is my absolute priority. I carry a first-aid kit, Personal Locator Beacon, satellite phone and navigation tools on every hike for areas where mobile signals drop, and up-to-date navigation maps. I handle all the route planning, terrain tracking, and weather monitoring. You only need to bring your basic personal gear—like sturdy walking shoes, a water bottle, and a sun hat—and leave the safety logistics completely to me.
A standard tour is usually about ticking off a destination, rushing to a lookout, or listening to non-stop historical commentary. My Hikefulness® journeys are entirely different. I focus on helping you slow down, engage your senses, and intentionally experience the natural world. I guide you at an unhurried, grounded pace that lets you truly notice the quiet of the bush and the rhythm of the ocean, giving you the space to breathe and unwind.

Preparing for your day hike
What to bring
Pack light, but bring what you need for comfort and safety. What you’ll need depends on the hike, and I’ll guide you through it.
- Comfortable non-slip walking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. Trail shoes or runners are fine.
- Daypack — I have packs available if you need one
- Hiking clothing (synthetic or wool is better; cotton stays wet, cold and heavy)
- Rain jacket — we hike rain, hail or shine
- Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- 1–2 litres of water per person
- Snacks or a light energy filled cold lunch, depending on the hike
Optional: walking poles, camera or phone, personal medication.
South Coast Weather
Rain and wind are part of the Great Southern, and part of the adventure. In extreme conditions, heat or high fire danger, the decision to reschedule or adjust the route is mine to make, for your safety. Denmark weather is changeable — dressing in layers is always best.
Fitness, pace and safety during a hike
Hikes can be adapted to a wide range of fitness levels. Participants should be comfortable walking on uneven ground for the agreed duration, with breaks as needed. We walk at a relaxed pace with time for rest and conversation. I carry a first-aid kit, PLB, satellite phone, navigation, emergency communication, and extra water and supplies. Your comfort and safety are always the priority, and the hike can be adjusted at any time.
Booking and cancellation
After booking you’ll receive a confirmation with a link to a necessary personal waiver/medical form, then I’ll contact you directly to plan your hike. Please read the Terms of Booking and Participation before booking. We hike rain, hail or shine.
Looking for a last-minute hike? Give me a call on 0410 756 065 and, if I’m available, I’ll happily see what I can arrange.
What people take home
Didier has been a great help to me in getting organised for my hike. Giving me so much information. Answering all my crazy questions. He gives his time without hesitation 🙂
Heather — Prepare for a solo multiday hike
I completed a solo beginners over night trail with Didier along the beautiful Murray River. It was a great introduction to overnight hiking and Didier was very friendly and easy to ask questions about hiking along the Bibbulmun Track and hiking in general. I now feel a lot more confident in completing some more longer hikes on my own. I would highly recommend.
Mark – Future solo overnight hike
My anxiety and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome stopped me from hiking alone. Didier planned a hike specifically for my needs, so I could experience what I loved.
Anthony
As a nurse, my work hours can be all over the place, so I really needed something flexible that could fit around my schedule.
I wanted time outside, in nature away from the pressure of work, and a chance to slow down properly. Didier’s calm and friendly nature made the hiking relaxing.
